Now with the advent of Airfence Speedway, the perimeter fence no longer needs to present the solid threat it did previously. In fact Airfence Speedway is suitable for use at any Speedway, Flatrack or Longtrack event.
The barrier has a fundamental similarity to Airfence IIS but has been completely remodelled to cater for the unique needs of Speedway and other dirt-tack racing.
Airfence Speedway is made from heavy duty reinforced PVC fabric and comes in interlocking modules of 3 x 1.25 x 0.75 metres (L-H-W). These modules form a "bank" of barriers on each of the corners and the length of the bank can be tailored to suit promoters needs by simply adding more, or having less barriers. At the ends of each bank an angled "cushion", supported by another air chamber, finishes off the bank of safety barriers. In the case of Airfence Speedway for the Individual GPs, these cushions have been continued down the straights, to provide a continuity of appearance to the venue.
